PRIVACY

What we collect, who sees it, and how to reach us. The short version: no tracking, no ads, and nothing is ever sold.

The Shuley Cup is run by the Shuley Nakamura Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This page covers this website (shuleycup.com) and Shuley Cup LIVE (live.shuleycup.com), the tournament's scoring site. Questions, corrections or removals: shuleycup@gmail.com.

Visiting the sites

You can read everything without an account. Neither site uses advertising, analytics, tracking pixels or social media trackers, and neither sets a cookie for ordinary visitors. Even the fonts come from our own sites, so your browser talks to no one else.

Our host, Cloudflare, handles the usual technical details of each visit (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse, and gives us visit totals that do not identify anyone.

Cookies and browser storage

  • One cookie, only if you sign in. Scorekeepers, captains and organizers who sign in to Shuley Cup LIVE get a single cookie that keeps them signed in. It does nothing else, and it goes when you log out or after 14 days.
  • Settings that stay on your device. LIVE remembers your light or dark theme choice, and organizers' draft board layout, in your own browser. They are never sent to us.

That's all, so there is no cookie banner to click through.

Registering to play

Registration and payment happen on RallyUp, under RallyUp's privacy policy. From the registration we keep only what the tournament needs: your name, email, phone number, shooting hand, preferred positions, how often you play, and any note you wrote for the organizers. We do not keep payment details, your address or dietary information.

What is public

  • Rosters, scores and stats. Team rosters, goals, assists, penalties and standings are shown on Shuley Cup LIVE as the games are played, and become part of the tournament's results history on this site.
  • Player pages. If you fill in your optional player bio (hometown, where you played, a fun fact, a photo), it appears on your public player page. Leave anything blank and it simply does not show. You can change or remove it at any time.
  • Updates and photos posted by the organizers, including team and champion photos.

Who sees your contact details

  • Your team captain sees the names, emails and phone numbers of the players on their own team, so they can organize the team. Captains are asked to use them only for the Shuley Cup.
  • The organizers see registration details for running the tournament and the draft.
  • Nobody else. Contact details never appear on the public sites.

Email

We email you only about the tournament: your player page link, and sign-in emails for captains and organizers (for example, a link to choose a password). We do not sell, rent or share email addresses, and there is no marketing list.

Who helps us run the sites

We don't sell or rent anyone's information. We use a few services to run the tournament, and they handle information only to provide that service:

  • Cloudflare, which hosts both sites and their database
  • GitHub, which stores this website's content
  • Google (Gmail), which sends our emails
  • RallyUp, which takes registrations and donations

Passwords

Captains and organizers choose their own passwords. We store them only in a scrambled form that can't be turned back into the password, so nobody, including us, can look one up. A forgotten password is replaced, never revealed.

Your choices

Email shuleycup@gmail.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or remove your contact details, bio or photo. Scores and results from past tournaments stay as part of the tournament's history, but we will take your name off them if you ask.

Children

The Shuley Cup is an adult tournament, and these sites are not meant for children under 13.
